GETTING ONBOARD

Let's get this ass-kicking started!

Congratulations, you've made it onto the Mellengerms. You're just about ready to walk through the fire into some real projects. But first, there's a bunch of stuff that we need to sign you up for, give you access to, or provide for you so that you can crush it from Day One. Keep reading for the 411.

Recommended Hardware

Apple Silicon Laptop (Air, Pro)

16GB Ram
512GB or higher SSD

4k monitor

LG USB-C or similar
wide gamut colour

Mellenger Hoodie or Sweater

For those dreary Vancouver days

Remember, Grasshoppers

If there's any hardware that you need to be more efficient (laptops, stands, monitors, keyboards, chairs, desks, faster internet, etc), please figure out what you need and ask Andrew. He'll probably buy it for you. He hates tech issues and loves throwing money at problems.

If you want to BYOD (bring your own device) then you are welcome to, but you can't track time on any tech issues that you are dealing with. We need to test our work in Safari browsers and troubleshooting mobile browser issues with an iPhone & Mac is 👌🏻.

All employees should be set up with:

Figma app
Slack app
Harvest time tracking app
Google Chrome
An email client that works with Google Apps (Apple Mail)
A calendar client (Apple Calendar)
Zoom
BugHerd Chrome / Safari / Firefox plugins
Dropbox client

Developers just gotta have:

VS Code
Git
Pantheon CLI
NVM
FTP client (Transmit or Filezilla or equivalent)
SQL client (Sequel Pro or similar)

Designers need to get:

Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, XD etc)
Blender 3D Creative Suite
